Slightly expensive. No frills. More quiet than other places in the area and definitely does the job
The restaurant is new and staffs are friendly. The food is nice.
It is pretty cheap so I didn't expect much from this place to begin with. When I went they were out of most things that I actually wanted to order. The food that I did actually get wasn't very good.
Good food, dim sum is boss especially the Abalone dim sum and the chicken feet. You have to try the Carrot Custard buns.
Standard dimsum place in China Town. Reasonable prices with decent dishes. Food was served quickly but their dimsum selection is not that large. They have cute piggy carrot buns though!
Excellent food ! Very nice people.
I would recommend making a visit to this spot for a great dim sum lunch
Don’t mind the atmosphere as there is not any fancy decor. The dim sum on here is on point and GMO free. Slightly more expensive than neighboring dimsum. Recommended dish is baked pork bun, chicken feet, sesame balls, egg tarts, congee, etc. Recommend slightly larger groups (3 people and up) to share more types of dimsum.
Since Nom Wah Tea Parlor is now a tourist trap, Dim Sum VIP is the next best thing! Go with a group and order everything, especially these adorable piggy’s!
A small hidden gem. Good quality dim sum, not the like the ones in cart that have been sitting for hours. It takes long for food to come out because they steam or fry most thing when you put the order in. That's why it taste fresh. Only two servers but usually when I go it's not full around 10am. Price it's a bit high compared to others in the area but if you want quality dim sum that's the price you pay. Only took a star because portions is a bit small. Other than that it have become my to go dim sum place in Chinatown for a table of 4 or less.
Great shrimp Har Gow and Salt and Pepper shrimps!
I just like that this place serves dim sum all day long. "5 star" is given because they have freshly baked flaky pastry egg tarts & BBQ puffs. Do not expect much of the service, and you will not be disappointed
This place is small but it does pack a decent punch on quality and taste. This was pretty good dim sum. They do have a few cute novelty dim sum dishes like the Carrot Custard Bun shaped like a pig. We arrived right before the big lunch rush on New Years day and they quickly filled up with a small line at the door when we finished. All in all it was a good experience, and we're happy to finally try it out.
Our first time trying dim sum and we were very pleased. Good service, good food.
Place for tourists, masked as high end dim Sim, bloated prices and tiny portions, if your Asian, avoid ... $50 dollars for 2 people ...
This place is in a little cut, off if Canal street in China town. Good dim sum, great pork buns and even better service. My wife forgot her gloves on the table and the waitress ran a whole block and gave them back to her. Needless to say she earned her tip!
The baked cha siu buns were so good! I think they were right out of the oven so it was incredibly soft and tasty. Everything else I tried tho was very lackluster. For the prices, not really worth it to come back
Worst dim sum place I have ever been too. Taste nothing authentic. The congee tasted like water with excess amount of salt and the waitress was rude. Don't waste your money here.
Delicious authentic dim sum, I think freshly steamed to order. There's a lot to like here. They serve dim sum all day too. The prices were maybe $0.50 to $1 higher per dish than we are accustomed, but for the quality and all-day availability we think it's worth the extra charge. A 15% service charge is added by default. Service is ok but had been slow at times. So if you're looking for great quality dim sum I heartily recommend this establishment.
Really good Dim Sum.. Love this place! Great service and food!
The house tea was very good, and the crystal sugar rocks sweeten the tea just right. The level of customer service was truly excellent, and the unisex bathroom is very clean. Alas, as good as the food was, I think dim sum food is not for me.
Not fancy though it is a good place for dim sum. Food is delicious and a great price! Teapot for one is $1 and dishes are a good price. So affordable for two or more. It is a bit small so mind busy houses may take a little longer to be seated. I recommend the carrot custard dumplings (shaped like pigs!) and the BBQ pork buns are the best I’ve ever had 😍
Quick facts:Their Chef is the Marriot Marquis Chef, so you can expect tasty food. Most tables sit 4, so if your party is larger than that don’t expect to sit together. They DO accept credit cards (many China Town businesses won’t). They have bathroom for patrons. You won’t find (free) parking nearby except on Sundays. The review:Walking in New York City will always grant you the possibility of finding great food ‘under the radar’. If you have had good dumplings before, you will definitely enjoy Dim Sum VIP: Tiny and packed with really good dim sum selection. One of the few places to have Lai Wong Bao. BTW Carrot Custard Bun (pic) is cute and tasty...
I visited this small place in Chinatown to try some Dim Sum. I had some with shrimp to takeaway and they was excellent! Nice atmosphere and friendly service. A must visit in Chinatown New York.
Happened to just pass by it with some friends looking for a new place to eat. Easily missed. Doesn't look like much when you walk in.. but was modern, clean and not crowded with single, double and 4 people seating.. The dim sum was rather surprisingly great! Simple service, you get hot tea and a paper menu that you mark down how many of each dishes you want (no pictures but English descriptions) with the usual 3-4pcs per order. I'd try it again as the food was good...
Loved the authentic food. Little family owned special restaurant. Incredible culinary artist was a plus!
Pretty good, without the madness of other popular spots.
Came here with a couple friends. Food was delicious! Waiters were super nice and welcoming.
Awful customer service, pretty good dim sum. Unfortunately the quality of food did not make up for the horrible service I received with my friend. They prioritized non-Asian customers, and gave seats to two Americans who just came in over my friend and I who were waiting in line for 35 minutes. There are plenty other excellent dim sum places in Chinatown and I see no reason to go back here.
No liqour license nor wine/beer. If you need to make a reservation for Dim Sum for dinner in Chinatown this is really your best option but the food is standard. You will not find locals here or your carts and it feels like a dirty bodega but that's half the fun right? Also consider the carrot Piggy's, I had out of town guests who were blown away
Dim sum for those who don't like frills whatsoever. Definitely a utilitarian style restaurant
One of the best dim sum in Chinatown. The food was freshly made to order, great temperature and taste they had amazing service and the restaurant was very clean.
Really solid option. The dumplings in soup were awesome.
Great place for dim sum, they are brought to you directly to your table, so yo know its fresh and hasn't been in a cart without it being picked or anything like it. They have a great selection of different dim sums, and most of them are great. Would definitely reccomend to friends.
This is a hidden gem! The service and food was delicious!!
Delicious and nutritious! Very yummy Chinese fare. Quiet “hole in the wall” restaurant with great Dim Sum and other dishes that we ate. I highly recommend this delicious restaurant.
The food quality is great, and I like the size (might be a little bit pricy). However, the menu did not mention that the wonton is porn & shrimp or shrimp only or porn only. All prices include 15% services fee (since 4/1/2018) no additional tips is needed.
Instead of waiting at LGA, I took a trip to Chinatown, NYC. I told google I wanted Dim Sum and boy was this the place!! The only negative thing is that they had a fewer selection than what I expected. The taste made up for it!
Love me some dim sum.
Excellent dim sum dishes. Cooked to order so it is always fresh.
Wow... best ever!
Great little authentic restaurant in Chinatown. Dim Sum was delicious and came out from the kitchen at right intervals. pricing was quite reasonable. Would absolutely return. The decor is simple with random unprofessional pictures of carved fruit unevenly disbursed on the walls. Too much white space, but then again it only adds character to the Chinatown vibe.
Great food, just don't like automatic gratuity added to bill. Let me extend gratuity if earned!!
Very delicious dimsum! Nothing to complain about the food. But one star off for their limited space. The whole restaurant has only maybe 8 tables, and some of them are only for two people. The waiting time is, however, not bad. So good for small group that only care about food not the look of the restaurant.
Ok this is one of my new favorite Chinatown spots. It’s small, but the dim sum is SO good. The har gaw has the perfect soft crystal wrapping, the spicy oil on the Red Oil wontons is not overbearing. The shrimp rice roll was SO SOFT and not overly salty. I can’t wait to come back and try more. OH and they also gave me a gigantic pot of tea instead of just a cup. 🤗❤️ *edited to include note about service* the service was polite and quick. The staff is great!
Really enjoyed our dim sum lunch. Yes, you do have to wait for your food but it’s so fresh & tasty. Enjoyed jasmine tea, shrimp dumplings in soup, shrimp & chive dumpling, spring rolls, pot stickers, dumplings in chili oil & green beans. Everything was hot, fresh & delicious. Look forward to going back.
Had a nice dim sum as lunch in the middle of the Chinatown. The dishes are average, nothing too special, the taste is decent and it comes within a reasonable time. The tip is included in the bill and the quantity of food is just average. If I come back again I think I would order the crispy shrimp in rice roll, custard buns, and maybe baked BBQ buns.
In the heart of Manhattan's China Town, I expected more. Service was minimal. With the exception of our order being taken and delivered too long later, we felt somewhat invisible. The food was OK and the quantity ample. The ambiance was modern and appeared sanitary. The price: for NYC probably acceptable; for me expensive for goods and services received.
The dimsum was very good and affordable. Service was quick.
Love the food. Delicious.
